E-Mon's wireless automatic meter reading (AMR) system is a unique mesh communication network that allows commercial, multi-family, industrial and institutional facility managers to monitor and and manage their actual energy usage from E-Mon D-Mon submeters and other utility meters without costly wiring or communication cabling.

E-Mon's wireless family of products include single- and three-phase meters with built-in wireless transceivers, external modules for interfacing previously installed E-Mon
D-Mon meters to a wireless AMR system and an assortment of wireless interface modules for bringing water, gas or other electric socket-type meters into the energy management system.

The E-Mon D-Mon wireless mesh network consists of self-configuring, peer-to-peer, multi-hopping transceivers (built-in or external) that intelligently route energy data between the meters and the central storage gateway (wireless gateway) in the most efficient manner. The wireless gateway located inside each metered building stores the interval energy data until downloaded via Ethernet or Internet using E-Mon Energy wireless software.

Mesh networking technology provides wireless meter-to-meter and meter-to-gateway communication eliminating additional transmitting devices and costly communication cabling. The wireless system is a self-configuring/self-repairing mesh network communicating in the 915 MHz license-free band. Operation requires no cellular contract and the wireless receivers are FCC-certified to not interfere with existing infrastructure. With these products E-Mon's wireless system offers a complete single-source solution for virtually any wireless submetering and AMR requirement.


Wireless Metering System Components

Class 4100 Single-Phase Meter

The class 4100 single-phase meters are designed for installation in multi-tenant
residential facilities where tenant allocation is required, but installation of
communication cabling is costly or not possible. The meters are equipped with
built-in wireless transceivers that communicate with the self-configuring wireless
network to send interval energy data to E-Mon Energy software for tenant billing,
load profiling and energy analysis. Meters are supplied in an attractive,
non-metallic enclosure ideal for installation inside the tenant space.


Class 2100 Three-Phase Wireless Meter

The Class 2100 three-phase meters are ideal for installation in commercial and
industrial applications where three-phase metering is required, but installation of
communication cabling is costly or not possible. The meters are equipped with built-in
wireless transceivers that communicate with the self-configuring wireless network
to send interval data to E-Mon Energy software for tenant billing, load profiling and
energy analysis. Meters are supplied in NEMA 4X outdoor enclosures and can be
ordered with or without the KW Demand option.


EWM External Wireless Module for existing E-Mon D-Mon Meters

The EWM external wireless module retrofits existing E-Mon D-Mon Class 1000 & 2000
meters for wireless compatibility. When plugged into an existing meter, the module
self-configures to the wireless network to transmit interval energy data to E-Mon
Energy. The EWM can be installed quickly on the 400,000+ E-Mon D-Mon meters
manufactured since 1997. This creates a new sales opportunity for you to revisit
projects where the installation of communication cabling was not an option as you
can now "upgrade" to wireless E-Mon Energy without the high cost of rewiring.


Wireless Socket Meter Package

Complete wireless electric socket meter package with built-in "under the glass"
wireless transceiver. Meter packages are available in a variety of configurations
for multi-family residential and three-phase commercial applications. These
socket meter packages are ideal for applications where the facility is set up for
socket meters. The installer is able to simply "plug-in" the wireless socket meter to
the existing socket and the built-in transceiver will automatically configure to the
wireless network and transmit the interval data to E-Mon Energy.


GW1 External Wireless Module for Gas & Water Meters

The GW1 external wireless module allows for easy interface of gas, water and
other utility meters with E-Mon Energy software. The module can be installed on
any gas or water meter equipped with a solid-state or reed switch pulse output.
This module lets users easily monitor all of their utilities, gas, water, electric and
E-Mon D-Mon submeters from one, easy-to-use software program.


GW2 Dual Point External Wireless Module for Gas & Water Meters

The GW2 external wireless module allows for easy interface of two gas, water and
other utility meters with E-Mon Energy software. The module can be installed on
any gas or water meter equipped with a solid-state or reed switch pulse output.
This module lets users easily monitor all of their utilities, gas, water, electric and
E-Mon D-Mon submeters from one, easy-to-use software program.


WDC Technical Specifications

The Wireless Data Collector is the network storage device for interval energy data
received from the wireless metering network. The storage device receives data
from the self-configuring/self-healing wireless network until downloaded by
E-Mon Energy software.

E-Mon Energy Software & Wireless Software Interface

E-Mon Energy software utilizes the wireless interface software to retrieve
interval energy data from the self-configuring wireless metering network.
Energy data is retrieved via Ethernet or Internet from the wireless gateway
and is accessible via E-Mon Energy software for tenant billing, load profiling
and energy analysis. Note: Both E-Mon Energy Software and Wireless Interface
software are required for the wireless metering system.
